Counselling Supervision & Training

At Worcester Therapy Group we share a commitment to the ideal that Counsellors and Psychotherapists require an ongoing level of supervision to carry out a high standard of work. In acknowledgement of this we offer reduced rates to trainees for both supervision and therapy, and can offer day-time and evening appointments to fit around the heavy demands of our professional lives.

Expert Supervision is offered by senior members of the practice:

Gwion Jones is the Clinical Director at Worcester Therapy Group and works primarily within a psychoanalytic orientation. He also teaches on the Doctorate Program in Clinical Psychology at Coventry University as well as running a module in Personal & Professional Development on its Postgraduate IAPT training. He is a Registered Practitioner with UKCP, Member of the Collage of Psychoanalysts UK, Senior Accredited Member of BACP as well as a Registered Member of BAPPS (British Association of Psychoanalytic & Psychodynamic Supervisors). He is also a founder member of the Psychoanalytic & Psychodynamic Supervision training organised by Severn & Thames Psychotherapy Network, which has been running since 2006 in Bristol.

Worcester Therapy Group subscribes to BACP's Code of Ethics for Supervisors.

In addition to offering Psychotherapy and Supervision, Associates at the practice have considerable experience in the following:

  • Counselling Skills Training
  • Conducting Personal Development Groups
  • Facilitating Counselling Groups
  • Offer workshops and guidance on setting up in Private Practice

As part of our commitment to other Practitioners we are currently organising a series of CPD Workshops open to all counsellors and health workers in the region. These day workshops are delivered by highly skilled trainers invited for their specific expertise in their respective field’s e.g. psychosexual problems, bereavement counselling etc. In addition, we intend to target specific training opportunities for Colleges and Organisations in the region, with the aim of offering specialised skills training to those working in the Health field as well as those in the broader area of Human Relations generally.
